Proof of Assets
                                          Home & Business Documentation
Services

Proof of Assets will schedule an appointment with you at your convenience.  The on-site process of our service is coming to your home, completely photographing the inside and outside of your home and property, and taking digital pictures of your property including close-ups of non-standard items.  Proof of Assets will create a cataloged DVD containing these photographs.  We recommend opening all cabinets, drawers, and closets to display their contents for documentation.  We will not, however, move the contents within cabinets, drawers, and closets.  Proof of Assets will provide an inventoried list of your appliances and electronics.  We suggest you gather model and serial numbers for all documented items to add to this inventory.  Due to the complexity of installation and the weight of electronics and appliances, we are unable to record all of these serial numbers for you.  Often they can be found with instruction manuals or purchase receipt documentation.  This will further help you clearly identify all makes and models for insurance adjusters when determining recovery costs.  We do recommend you contact your insurance provider to fully confirm what is required.

If there are any specific possessions, which require photos and are not viewable in the rooms, please have available for documentation at the time of your appointment.  Only items removed from attics and crawl spaces will be documented. We suggest laying out all your fine jewelry and collectables for photographing.

Please note, insurance companies recommend storing a copy of your inventory in a safe place outside of your home.  It is highly recommended that you include bills, receipts, warranties and instruction manuals to also serve as proof in case an insurance claim is filed.  Proof of Assets will also store a back up copy of this DVD in a secure off-site location.

Lastly, we recommend you reinventory all items in your home once a year.  After your initial documentation, Proof of Assets will contact you annually to provide an update, if needed, at a discounted rate.

After your inventory is documented, it is recommended you review your coverage to ensure adequate replacement of your assets.  Most homeowners do not carry adequate insurance to rebuild their home and replace its contents after a disaster.  An appraisal is a good estimate in determining what it would cost to rebuild your home so you can determine the amount of coverage you need.  Most insurance companies use basic insurance valuations (based on room count, square footage, etc.) or market value (the price at which your home might sell) to determine the amount of coverage.  Basic valuations can underestimate the costs to rebuild and market value could cause you to pay too much for coverage with today’s fluctuating market.  Proof of Assets in partnership with Joseph Appraisal Services can provide a replacement cost approach.  This is based on building and material costs as well as contents of your home to help you to decide how much coverage is needed.
